Mark Nelson began his legal career in business and real property litigation
and transactions. To meet the need of clients from Montecito to Malibu,
he expanded his practice into the Family Law area, eventually becoming
a Board Certified Specialist. Mark is now dedicated solely to the practice
of family law, including divorce, legal separation, property division,
custody, child and spousal support, paternity, litigation,
mediation, collaborative law, pre-marriage issues, and post-divorce
issues. Mark is well known for his expert representation in cases
involving complex business issues, significant assets and
particularly complicated tax and business valuation issues. He handles
child custody and visitation issues with skill and sensitivity, keeping
in mind the emotional and psychological welfare of the family. Mark
excels at negotiating and drafting unique settlement agreements,
and, when required, he will skillfully litigate complex issues at
trial.
